BRICS Working Group for the Research of Competition Issues to be held in Rio de Janeiro
A meeting of the BRICS Working Group for the Research of Competition Issues in Digital Markets under Russia’s BRICS Chairship in 2024 will be held on 22 November 2024 in Rio de Janeiro.
The co-chairs of the BRICS Working Group for the Research of Competition Issues in Digital Markets are the FAS Russia and the Administrative Council for Economic Defense of Brazil.
The meeting of the BRICS Working Groupf or the Research of Competition Issues in Digital Markets will address topical issues of competition policy and antitrust regulation in the digital economy. In particular, the participants are invited to analyze the latest trends and initiatives in the field of competition protection and development in digital markets in the BRICS countries, share experiences in adapting and improving competition law to new economic realities in the era of artificial intelligence, discuss the competition implications of the digitalization, and consider the prospects for international and interregional cooperation to respond effectively to emerging challenges in digital markets.
Representatives of competition authorities, academics and experts are expected to participate in the event, which will allow for a comprehensive discussion of competition issues in digital markets in the BRICS countries.
The meeting of the BRICS Working Group for the Research of Competition Issues in Digital Markets will be the final event in the field of competition under Russia’s BRICS Chairship in 2024, during which the BRICS competition authorities will summarize the results of their work and outline plans for further joint activities.
The Roscongress Foundation manages the events of Russia’s BRICS chairmanship.
