Moscow to Host First Meeting of BRICS Committee of Senior Energy Officials

Moscow will host its first energy event as part of Russia’s BRICS Chairship in 2024, the first meeting of the BRICS Committee of Senior Energy Officials, on 26–27 February. The Roscongress Foundation manages the events of Russia’s BRICS Chairship.

Russia will present the main initiatives and priorities of its Chairship in the energy sector as well as the history of the energy dialogue and mechanisms to facilitate the integration of the new BRICS members.

Special attention will be paid to the issue of fair energy transition in context of the study carried out on this subject as part of the BRICS Energy Research Platform. Other issues such as technological co-operation in traditional, new, and renewable energy sources will also be considered.

BRICS delegations will also visit the Russia Expo, in particular the Energy of Life and Atom Pavilions, to get acquainted with the best Russian practices in the energy sector.
