The 6th meeting of the BRICS Working Group on Disaster Risk Management was held on 16–17 April in Arkhangelsk.
Meeting participants exchanged their experience in the development of national disaster management systems, discussed the creation of national search and rescue units and a crisis management centre duty service for the timely exchange of important information between countries. A large-scale icebreaker emergency response exercise using water and air transport and other equipment was organized for the foreign guests.
