The BRICS Working Group for the Research of Competition Issues in Digital Markets held a meeting in Kazan on 11 April.
The event was held in the “BRICS plus” format and was attended by representatives of the antimonopoly authorities of CIS countries, as well as Zambia, Nigeria, Pakistan, Thailand, and Tanzania. The meeting focused on boosting the level of self-regulation of the technology industry and the role of soft law in building a pro-competitive market environment in digital markets.
The meeting participants reviewed the latest trends and initiatives in this area and recapped the interim results of the working group’s activities. They paid special attention to the draft Model Principles and Standards for the Activities of Participants in BRICS Digital Markets.
The Roscongress Foundation manages the events of Russia’s BRICS chairship.
