BRICS Deputy Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors met on 7 February via video conference. It was the first such event for representatives of the countries that became full members of the association on 1 January 2024.

Russian Deputy Minister of Finance Ivan Chebeskov and First Deputy Governor of the Bank of Russia Vladimir Chistyukhin spoke about the financial priorities of Russia’s Chairship and unveiled a flagship initiative for improving the international monetary and financial system.

Event participants discussed such topical issues as cooperation on customs and tax, blended financing for infrastructure projects, the launch of the BRICS Finance Research Network, and financial cooperation within the BRICS Business Council.

The Roscongress Foundation manages the events of Russia’s BRICS Chairship.

On 7 February Deputy Finance Ministers and Deputy Central Bank Governors of BRICS countries met via videoconference as part of Russia's Chairship. It was the first such financial event for representatives of the countries that became full members of BRICS on 1 January 2024.
