BRICS Youth Summit

The 10th BRICS International Summit was held in Ulyanovsk on 22–26 July.

200 representatives of BRICS member states attended the event, where they focused on five principal tracks: education, science and training; youth entrepreneurship; science, technology and innovation; the younger generation, social work and volunteering; health and sports. Each of these was discussed by working groups and individual panels. The delegates drew up questions they asked of the heads of youth policy agencies and ministers of BRICS member states at a business breakfast and they elaborated topics for next year’s summit programme.

The Summit concluded by adopting a declaration including proposals and initiatives for bolstering cooperation in education, holding annual meetings of young entrepreneurs, promoting digital literacy among young people, launching a programme for young volunteers, engaging young people in more intense physical activities and promoting a healthy lifestyle.

The Summit also inaugurated the BRICS Youth Media Platform.

The Roscongress Foundation serves as the operator of the Russian Federation’s BRICS Chairship events.
